Projects
A summary of completed projects, by working group
GLOBAL NEUROETHICS
The Global Neuroethics Working Group helped catalyze a profound shift that is underway toward embedding neuroethics in neuroscience research and practice.
A set of neuroethical questions was published as a Perspective article in Neuron. The following year, a Neuron Special Issue on Neuroethics included a response from each initiative.
An online repository of resources from the Global Neuroethics Summit, an annual product of the working group, includes case studies, policy documents, and existing ethical guidelines.
DATA STANDARDS & SHARING
A collaboration between data scientists, neuroscientists, and neuroethicists from the brain initiatives recommends more transparent international data governance policies to enable responsible data sharing across borders. A paper, “International Data Governance in Neuroscience,” is in revision at Neuron; preprint available here.
INVENTORY OF BRAIN PROJECTS
An online inventory tool systematically catalogs projects from the world’s major brain initiatives (current data are from the U.S., Japan, and the E.U.), creating a mechanism to identify trends and scientific priorities across the international neuroscience landscape.
