    Brain Awareness Week 2023 Highlights

    Neuroethics Canada at UBC in Vancouver, BC, IBI’s current host site, hosted Dr. Melissa Perreault as its distinguished BAW 2023 speaker. Dr. Perreault, Associate Professor of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, is a member of the Indigenous Knowledge Holders Group of the Canadian Brain Research Strategy, and the Lead of IBI’s new Working Group in Crosscultural Perspectives in Global Neuroscience.

    KBRI held 2023 Brain Awareness Week event on March 25th, 2023 at the conference room in KBRI with about 150 people participating. Topic for this year's event was "Future with AI and human brain', and lecturers are as below:

    • Sunghoon Lim (Professor, DGIST) "From AI to ChatGPT"
    • Boram Kim (Postdoctral Researcher, KAIST) "Microbiome that controls our brain"
    • Juhyun Kim (Senior Researcher, KBRI) "How neuroscientists researches brain?"

    Also, there were several activities such as 4D human brain puzzles, VR, and AI Gobang before the lectures and there were open lab tours (Psychophysiology Lab, Brain Developing Imaging Lab) afterwards.
