Jan G. Bjaalie on international brain research: "We are now in a critical phase"

In this Q&A, the International Brain Initiative (IBI) Chair, Jan Bjaalie, discusses the future of international neuroscience collaboration. Bjaalie was one of several dozen neuroscience leaders and policymakers who came together October 12 for a workshop co-organized by the European Parliament's Panel for the Future of Science and Technology (STOA) and the IBI. In this Q&A in the lead up to the event, he discusses the IBI's progress on global neuroethics and on data standards and sharing. Bjaalie also underscores the need for ongoing funding to ensure society derives the maximal benefits from data generated by recent public investments in brain research.
